A US-market Kia or Hyundai carries North-American control units and firmware. EU dealer systems only see European software, so open US recalls and service campaigns stay open — even the importer will tell you nothing can be done.

Why can’t my local dealer do it?
EU dealer systems only provide European software. A US-built VIN has different control units and firmware they cannot download.
Is it the same software a US dealer would install?
Yes — we only install the official campaigns and updates released for your VIN, nothing else.
Update, reprogramming, flashing, refresh — what’s the difference?
In practice they mean the same job: writing newer official software into a control unit (ECU, ICCU, BMS, shifter, body controller…). Dealers call it a software update or reprogramming, technicians call it flashing. We do exactly that — with US-market software for US-built cars.
How long does it take?
A diagnostic takes up to 1 hour. A full update takes up to 2–3 hours, depending on the number of campaigns. You can wait on site.
